The short version
If you monitor a handful of URLs and never look at response times, the free tier of almost anything will do — including ours, and including UptimeRobot's. The reasons people actually move are narrower than a feature table suggests:
- The numbers are measured from the wrong continent, so response times say more about distance than about the server.
- The price scales per check, so watching the checkout every minute costs more than watching the marketing site once an hour — exactly backwards.
- A catalogue needs hundreds of monitors, one row per page, each with its own alert.
- The monitor is blocked by the customer's own WAF, and the dashboard just says 403 with no explanation.
Those four are what this tool was built around. Everything else is roughly the same everywhere, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
